Masterton Airport

Unfortunately there are currently NO commercial passenger flights out of Masterton.

If this changes we will update this page. If you become aware of new flights please contact us

Masterton Airport is located at Solway, on the outskirts of Masterton New Zealand, and is part of the Hood Aerodrome. The airport mainly services recreational and vintage aircraft, but has in recent years added regional passenger flights. Flights from Masterton to Auckland now operate six days a week. This offers a great economic boost to the Wairarapa region, and allows easier international travel for residents. Many travellers head to the Martinborough Wine region.

Recreational Flights

The Hood Aerodrome/Masterton Airport (code MRO) is also home to many aviation and flying events such as the famous Wings over Wairarapa show every 2 years. The airfield houses many collections of vintage aircraft, and is home to several vintage flying clubs. The aerodrome’s rural location and relaxed flying restrictions, allow pilots a certain flying freedom. Recreational flights and landing information: www.hoodaerodrome.org.nz. If you require a place to stay while in Wairarapa then see our Masterton Accommodation page. The airport is managed by the Masterton District Council.
